ATEC France meets with National Organizing Committee

On Thursday 27 April 2017, ATEC ITS France received the members of the National Organizing Committee together with the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and ERTICO at ASFA.

From 19 – 22 June 2017 Strasbourg will host the 12th ITS European Congress at the Strasbourg Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) implements new information and communication technology in the transport sector. They focus on creating digital solutions that directly benefit the mobility of people and goods. This year’s Congress theme is ‘ITS Beyond Borders’ and this theme will be carried through in all demonstrations, exhibitions and presentations.

Approximately 3000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s Congress. Specialists in the field of transport like academics, researchers, contractors, transport operators, infrastructure managers and car- and equipment manufacturers from all over the world will make their way to The Congress.

The exhibition area will cover over 5000 mwith more than 95 exhibitors participating. Various executive sessions will also take place.

ERTICO ITS EUROPE, The Eurométropole of Strasbourg and ITS France has worked together to set up a National Organizing Committee for the Congress consisting of representatives from the ITS community of France. This committee includes transport operator authorities, industrial and engineering companies, consultants, universities, research organizations, professional associations and service providers.

Gearing up for the Congress, members of the National Organizing Committee will act as ambassadors of the Congress, but in particular they will act as ambassadors of their local ITS branches to ensure a consistent presence in Strasbourg, positioning the country as a leader in ITS at a European level.

Representing Roland Ries, Mayor of Strasbourg and Robert Hermann, President of the Eurométropole of Strasbourg, Mrs Catherine Trautman, Vice President of the Eurométropole of Strasbourg, honoured us with her audience. The Vice-President of ATEC ITS France, Mr Roger Pagny, believes that the success of this Congress is vital to the association’s activities, especially the Mobility 3.0 initiative, which aims to support French excellence and help communities develop effective intelligent mobility solutions for their area. The France Mobility 3.0 space is ideally located in the exhibition will bring together the Ministry of Transport, the state technical services, the Eurométropole of Strasbourg, ITS France and its members: large groups and innovative start-ups
