French concessionaire motorway companies present at the heart of the ITS European Congress of Strasbourg.

For its General Assembly, the professional association of French motorway companies (ASFA) will hold its annual conference on Wednesday 21 June from 10 am to 1 pm in Strasbourg during the 12th ITS European Congress (Intelligent Transport System) that brings together the European major players of mobility. ASFA, principal partner of this congress, will showcaseon its stand the latest innovations developed by motorway companies and the results of an innovative project of development of transport infrastructure, designed by engineering and architecture students of ENPC and ENSAVT.

Wednesday 21 June: Preparing the motorway of the future

Rendez-vous on Wednesday 21 June with leading experts on mobility issues for an exciting debate on the future of infrastructures that will help us to shape the Motorway of the future. During this conference – with Catherine Trautmann, Vice-President of the Eurométropole of Strasbourg that welcomes the ITS European Congress – the dynamic innovation of the transport and infrastructure industry actors will be discussed. From co-modality to car sharing, the deployment of new technologies accompanies the emergence of new modes of transport. These technologies allow us to foresee the possibility of using electrical vehicles on verylong distances, to integrate autonomous vehicles on infrastructures that are already ready to welcome them or to streamline vehicle flows on “smart” transport axes. The second part of the conference will address with leadingexperts the capacity of the concessive model to tackle the challenge of the financing of investments for transport infrastructure, and the value of this efficient and equitable investment leverage for the State.

ASFA and engineering and architecture students imagine the motorway connection at the gateway of Paris by 2030-2050
The ASFA conference will provide an opportunity for students of l’Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC)and of l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires (ENSAVT) to present the results of a 6-month-project combining all the fields of study necessary for the deployment of an innovative project on the future of motorway infrastructures. This project will also be presented on the stand of the motorway companies (D10). A stand dedicated to the innovations of motorway companies

Support for mobility today, the motorways are ready to welcome tomorrow’s ones by maintaining their high quality of service through the implementation of the most advanced technologies. The stand of the motorway companies situated at location D-10 will interactively showcase the latest technological developments and projects of the motorway companies: applications and partnerships, rapid-charging stations, induction-recharging, connected areas, centralized management system and Bluetooth technology in tunnels and active participation in European projects for the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems. Motorway companies have been preparing for new mobility needs and the deployment of intelligent systems for many years, and are aware that the future of mobility will depend on the ability of all mobility actors to work together in order to make the very most of disruptive economic technologies and models.
