Strasbourg, France, 19–22 June 2017. Europe's leading event for intelligent transport specialists.
On 29 September, Alain Vidalies, Secretary of State for Transport, Sea and Fishing, and his German counterpart Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, announced a Franco-German initiative for electromobility. This was a follow-up to their discussion in April 2016 during the latest Council of Franco-German Ministers. This joint declaration sets up the policies and regulations for the development of electromobility and automated vehicles. In terms of electromobility, the two countries agree to set up a common vision in terms of regulations and promotion of electric vehicles. On the automated driving front, they agreed upon testing and studies to guarantee safety on roads. Lastly they announced the creation of an experimental cross-border French-German testing site, which enables real-life testing on roads.
